New Open Access Journal, JNIS Advances, to Debut at Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS) 23rd Annual Meeting
SEATTLE — JNIS Advances, a fully open-access companion journal to the Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery (JNIS) designed to address the growing reach of neurointerventional research, will debut on July 22 at the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS) Annual Meeting.
JNIS Advances covers the full range of neurointerventional practice, including stroke, aneurysms, brain tumors, and spinal disorders, and utilizes double-anonymized peer review and rigorous production standards.
For authors, manuscripts can be submitted directly to JNIS Advances via the online portal. In addition, manuscripts submitted but not accepted to JNIS can transfer directly to JNIS Advances through BMJ’s Article Transfer Service with peer review reports attached. For practitioners, every article will be free to read on any device, anywhere—removing subscription barriers for clinicians in low- and middle-income countries where the global stroke burden is rising fastest. For fellows, residents and medical students, JNIS Advances offers another venue for high-quality research, complementing JNIS’s highly selective publication process.
“The neurointerventional field has expanded rapidly beyond the treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease. Neurointerventionalists now treat cerebrospinal fluid disorders, cure epilepsy, and implant brain-computer interfaces,” said JNIS Advances Editor Michael Levitt, MD. “Our goal with this open-access journal is to bring new discoveries to our readership, the broader scientific community, and ultimately to our patients.”
JNIS is a leading peer review journal for scientific research and literature pertaining to the field of neurointerventional surgery. The journal was launched in 2009 following growing professional interest in neurointerventional techniques for the treatment of a range of neurological and vascular problems including stroke, aneurysms, brain tumors, and spinal disorders. JNIS is published by BMJ on behalf of SNIS; it is also the official journal of ESMINT, the Interventional Chapter of ANZSNR, CING, HKSITN, the INR Chapter of NRST and STNI.
