Fellowship is the beginning of this very rewarding career in neurointervention. The central purpose of the fellowship match is to organize the application process. In turn, it allows our trainees – the prospective applicants and our future colleagues – to focus on their residency, to broaden their awareness and access to training programs, and to simplify this stressful process.
The Neurointerventional Fellowship Match will be using ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service, by the American Association of Medical Colleges, or AAMC) to manage the application process. The Match itself will be managed by the NRMP (National Residency Matching Program).
Identify your track eligibility prior to applying
A key feature of the Neurointerventional Fellowship Match is that it is designed to house two separate tracks. Depending on their parent specialties, some trainees will have completed requisites that qualify them for 1-year neurointerventional training. Some trainees will be pursuing a two-year neurointerventional training position that allows them to build their case volume and experience during this fellowship.
CAST program first-year competency requisites can be found here (page 5).
Register for your ERAS Token
The first match cycle will be for the class starting neurointerventional fellowship in July 2027, through the ERAS 2026 cycle. Applicants who are participating in the first match cycle can register for their ERAS 2026 Tokens on June 5, 2025, at the ERAS Token registration page.
Build and submit your application
The applicants will mostly work through MyERAS, which can be accessed here.
For more information, you may refer to the recording of the introductory webinar, How to Navigate ERAS for the Neurointerventional Fellowship Match. The slides from the presentation can be accessed here.
